FAQ

  • Why the name "Bread & Salt?"

In many countries, offering bread and salt is a way of welcoming of guests after a long journey. Many of my clients come to me after years of painfully relating to food and body. I conceptualize nutrition therapy work as creating a pathway to come home to the body.

Bread and salt are food items that often evoke fear in many of my clients. A lot of time in sessions is spent demystifying “wellness” and faulty nutrition guidance. An evocative quote that furthers this point by Samin Nosrat, “get used to the way the salt falls from your hands; experience the illicit thrill of using so much of something we’ve all been taught to fear.”

There is a also a sign in the movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, that a client reminded me of that reads “BREAD: that this house may never know hunger. SALT: that life may always have flavor.”

May you learn to satisfy hunger. May your life always have the most delicious flavors.
